We will soon be able to know the starting Quarterback for Ohio State, at least according to reactions that head coach Ryan Day was made to the Big Ten Network Crew when it was in the city to view an example of Ohio State during one of the autumn camp practices last week.
So far, all indications and comments have confirmed that it is a two-man, tight race between former five-star reckut Julian Sayin and the rising Junior Lincoln Kienholz. No one in the coaching staff or the team made comments about one of the two guys leading the race, and in fact, when we saw the buckeyes in the first few days of the autumn camp, the representatives were indeed fairly equally divided between the two, with both a shot with the first team attack.
According to Day, however, he would like to make a decision with the time for the team to be acclimatized and used to the leader in the middle to prepare for the season opener against Texas on August 30. When he spoke with the BTN, he said that a decision could come until the end of next week.
“I would like to see them continue to compete this week, maybe in next week, Day told BTN.” But you would like to have an idea who that guy is going to be on the way to the first game for at least a few weeks. “
We have seen similar timelines with a decision that previously made a decision through Quarterback fights, where the competition between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown is the only one who took the season. Unless neither of them can take the runway, it seems that this season we will see something similar with both the progress and moments this fall. All things that are the same can amount to which man best takes care of the ball.
“They both had good moments and moments when they grow, but the competition continues,” Day said the BTN -Crew. “I will say that I am happy with the progress. We are not where we should be. But if they continue to learn from the mistakes they make and continue to grow from the pieces they do well and move the attack and take care of football, then the right goes to the thread. But eventually they have to take care of football.”
We will keep an eye on this as we progress all week, and if something is announced, we will be all over it. Tick, Tick, Tick …
